These 400-standard size cards, comprise Upper Deck's 1996-97 Collector's Choice series one and two set. Cards were primarily issued in 12-card hobby and retail packs with a suggested retail price of ninety-nine cents. Regular issue cards feature white-bordered fronts with color player action shots. The backs have a color photo and statistics. A Factory Set was also issued in early May 1997. The set contained all the basic cards from both series, five Gold Mini-Cards (randomly inserted) and one of four commemorative cards (measuring 3 1/2" by 5") featuring either Shawn Kemp, Michael Jordan, Anfernee Hardaway or a Jordan/Hardaway dual card. The set was issued as a 406-card factory set with a suggested retail price of $29.99. Also included as an insert in packs (1:4 packs) was a game piece for Upper Deck's Meet the Stars promotion. Each game piece was a multiple choice trivia card about basketball. The collector would scratch off the box next to the answer that they felt best matched the question to determine if they won. Instant win game pieces were also inserted one in 72 packs. Winning game pieces could be sent into Upper Deck for a prize drawing. The Grand Prize was a chance to meet Michael Jordan. Prizes for 2nd through 4th were for Upper Deck Authenticated shopping sprees. The 5th prize was two special Michael Jordan Meet the Stars cards. The blank back cards measure 5" by 7" and are titled Dynamic Debut and Magic Memories.
