Who We Are

FROZEN HEROES Sportscards and Memorabilia was established in 1977. For over forty years we have been an advocate of the hobby and have provided honest and unbiased advice to collectors. We do not believe in jacking prices, cheating customers or misleading buyers with false information. Our focus is the word 'hobby'. We don't treat the hobby as a business and the pitfalls that come with that reference. We do this simply because we love the hobby. Period. We don't let greed and stupidity interfere with our everyday enjoyment of cardboard and ink. We are TOTALLY independent and we don't answer to anyone but our clients.

We don't believe in jacking prices artficially or creating some shortage just to take extra money from you. When we say we are out of stock you won't find a case or two under our counter. This is a hobby and as such we don't pay anyone to work in our store nor do we whine about it like others. Our time is your time and we don't charge you for it. Our break prices are one of the best in the hobby and include shipping always. We never answer questions with our bank account in mind before answering. We give it to you straight - EVERYTIME.

If you've dealt with us you know what we are about and if you haven't we truly believe that you are missing out on something special and different from the status quo.

MY HEALTH ISSUES Our new Oshawa store was openend in March 2017. Just three short months later we were dealt devastating news as I was diagnosed with leukemia and given less than six months to live. I was 56 years old with a wife and 4 year old son and a new store location. Since then I have gone through months of chemotherapy, over 16 months in hospitals, more blood transfusions than I care to remember and over 750 needles. I was turned down three times for a transplant because of my health and low survival chances. At my last transplant appointment I was told that my chemotherapy wasn't working. I pretty much begged the doctor to help me. I wanted to live and would do whatever I had to. Finally in June of 2019 I was given a stem cell transplant. My doctor said it was one of the strongest chemo doses he has ever used and cancelled my radiaition treatment for fear of weakness. The odds of surviving were long but I managed to live. I have endured months of therapy and I am thrilled to finally be home (to stay I hope). My eternal gratitude to the donor who gave me life and my thanks to all the medical people involved in my care at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. You will all be in my prayers.

OUR RETAIL STORE CLOSURE AND UPPER DECK Finally to the card store owner in Oshawa who complained to anyone and everyone about our lack of proper store hours due to my health and how we shouldn't even be Upper Deck Diamond Dealers anymore - and to Upper Deck for agreeing - I hope you don't have to go through what I did and what my whole family went through. Dealing with cancer and the immense crap you go through and when you get a free minute you spend it making out your will. The store wasn't even a concern for me really at that time but it is nice to know there are some pretty pathetic people in this hobby.
