The card backs have an additional black-and-white image and narrative text. Most of the artwork is uncredited but some of the notable artists include: Hilary Barta, John Buscema, John Byrne, Sam Kieth, Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Todd McFarlane, Al Milgrom, Marc Silvestri, Herb Trimpe, and Barry Windsor-Smith.
